My good cat Cricket

So sorry to hear about the problems with your cat. Sometimes they do do it for attention, but it sounds like she is getting enough. If this has been going on only recently, it may be due to something internal that she is trying to let you know about. My older cat did things to get my attention (like peeing on the floor next to the cat box, etc.) and it turned out she had diabetes. We found out to late. Another cat did unusual things to signal she had a urinary tract infection. Hope it is nothing serious. Maybe you could lock her out of the room at night and put a fan on the outside of the door so she won't want to scratch and you wouldn't hear it.
